Marla + Charles, Colonial Dames of America, Philly

Marla and Charles chose the Colonial Dames house just off Rittenhouse Square, a quiet garden tucked into the city, for a small celebration with their favorite people. We met in the park for a few portraits, then strolled to the house for a Quaker ceremony in the round. The whole day felt easy and personal, exactly what they imagined.

Their style set the tone. Marla wore a 1920s inspired gown and Charles arrived in a seersucker suit. Guests leaned into the vintage vibe while servers in suspenders passed bites. Instead of a dance floor, everyone mingled in the garden, played lawn games, listened to music, and snacked through the afternoon. A few weeks earlier they had exchanged vows with two witnesses in the Azalea Garden by the Art Museum, so this gathering was all about sharing the joy with family and friends.

It was an intimate Philadelphia garden wedding with timeless details and a relaxed spirit, and it suited them perfectly.
